We are Ken Robertson and Jenny Thomas.

Jenny has been sailing all her life in dinghies and larger boats and Ken for the last 20 years in sailboats. Ken has his RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate as well as Ocean Theory and was a RYA Cruising Instructor from 2010 until 2016, when we became full time Cruisers
​
We purchased Lady Rebel in St Petersburg Florida in 2012 after she had undergone an extensive refit in 2006/7. Over $350,000 was spent, Project Managed by Gene Gammon, 'Mr Irwin' himself!

Lady Rebel was sailed from St Petersburg to Portsmouth, UK in August/September 2012 where we acquainted ourselves with her, sailing locally as well as crossing the English Channel many times to explore the Channel Islands and the French coasts of Normandy and Brittany.
We moved aboard in 2014 in Falmouth, UK in preparation for the big one in 2016, selling our houses, quitting our jobs and sailing off into the sunset!

Since departing Falmouth we have travelled more than 20,000 Nm, circumnavigating the UK, sailing across the Bay of Biscay, down the Spanish and Portugese coasts and the across to the Canary Islands, down to Cape Verde Islands and across to Barbados in November 2016.

The next sailing season consisted of sailing down to Grenada, back up the Eastern Caribbean to the BVIs and then onto Bermuda and into Rhode Island USA for the start of the hurricane season in 2017.

The hurricane season was spent sailing to Cape Cod and then back down through Long Island, New York, New Jersey, and into the Chesapeake.

In November 2017 we sailed to the Bahamas, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the the USVIs, BVIs and back down the Eastern Caribbean to Trinidad and Tobago for August 2018 and the next hurricane season.

We then made our way to the ABCs, Columbia, Panama, St Andres, Providencia, The Honduran Bay Islands, Belize and into the Rio Dulce in Guatemala in May 2019, where we currently are. Lady Rebel is currently having a further major refit including new Awlgrip paint to the hull and decks (including new anti slip), new upholstery, 1600W of new solar panels and smart controllers, refurbished cockpit enclosure, new cockpit roof, hull below the waterline grit blasted, faired and epoxied with new Interprotect 2000E and Jotun antifoul paint

Our sailing plans for 2020 changed due to COVID! We were to continue to explore the remaining Western Caribbean and then either take her to the USA to sell her (if she hadn't already been sold!) or possibly sail to Europe or possibly down to Panama and then through the canal. Life as a cruiser can be full of tough decisions! Our current thinking (Oct 2020) is to sail up to the USA after the hurricane season.

When Lady Rebel does sell then our sailing plans will be aboard a trawler and exploring the Great American Loop!!
